HCP presents POND as a fresh-water and fish-pond sump family for intermittent operation.
Before selection: The manufacturer warns against sediment or chemicals, so this is not a general dirty-water family.
HCP lists IC for dewatering, circulating-water and irrigation applications.
Before selection: Confirm the exact duty and approvals; the family name does not establish drinking-water, borehole or solar suitability.
GD and GD-R are portable dewatering families, with low-level drainage statements attached only to named GD-R variants.

HDG is HCP's slurry-dewatering family and the manufacturer describes an agitator arrangement for sediment duties.
Before selection: Send the liquid density, sediment, particle size, required duty and run pattern; slurry is not one standard liquid.
HCP lists BD as a separate construction and basin dewatering family.
Before selection: Do not combine BD and HD data because the applications overlap; use the exact model record and duty point.
GD and GD-R are portable dewatering families. HD and BD cover construction and basin dewatering, with different model ranges and materials. Low residual-water claims belong only to the exact GD-R variants named by HCP.
HDG is HCP's slurry-dewatering family and includes an agitator. IC covers dewatering, circulating-water and irrigation duties. The liquid, sediment and duty still need checking for the exact model.
AN and POND include sump-oriented pumps. HCP specifically warns that POND pumps are not for liquid containing sediment or chemicals, so they must not be treated as general dirty-water pumps.
Before a model is chosen
Model capability, materials, electrical data, dimensions and performance must match the exact job. A series name or old model number is not enough on its own.
